Laurel Arts League
Celebrating and supporting the arts
The mission of the Laurel Arts League is to support and celebrate the visual and performing arts through public education and events in the city of Laurel, Mississippi.
Founded in November 1969, this organization of dedicated women provides its community with support for art departments at local public schools, scholarships, a children's art contest and Day in the Park. They also assist the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art with various programs including the Very Special Arts Festival and the Heritage Arts Festival.
Day in the Park is the Laurel Arts League's largest annual event, which takes place the first Saturday each May in Mason Park. The day begins with a 5K race followed by a fun run. Throughout the day patrons can enjoy live music, student and juried art competitions, delicious festival cuisine, children's activities and the works of over 100 skilled craftsmen from across the region.
The Laurel Arts League is a non-profit organization and maintains 501(c)(3) status.
